The modelling of the seismic input is a critical aspect when non-linear time-history analyses (NLTHAs) are carried out. As a matter of fact, seismic response of structures is very sensitive to the input excitation time history. The present work aims to highlight the differences in the input modelling and the assessment of seismic response of three r.c. structures employing four generation methods of fully non-stationary artificial accelerogram sets at a given construction site. Hybrid Steel-Trussed Concrete Beam (HSTCB) is structural typology suitable for light industrialization. HSTCBs usually cover long span with small depths, which lead to significant amount of longitudinal rebars. The latter make beam-column joints more prone to damage due to earthquake-induced cyclic actions. This phenomenon can be avoided using friction-based BCCs. Artificial Ground Motions and Nonlinear Response of RC Structures

The selection of seismic inputs for nonlinear dynamic analysis is widely debated, mainly focusing on the advantages and disadvantages provided by the choice of natural, simulated, or artificial records. This work proves the differences in the structural behavior of RC buildings when using accelerograms with different levels of stationarity. Initially, nonlinear response under three sets of accelerograms equivalent in terms of pseudo acceleration spectrum is evaluated and compared. Then, the results of incremental dynamic analyses are compared by the statistical point of view considering different levels of irregularity for the reference structure.
